Davakhuu Odsuren

Ph.D. – Mongolian National University of Education, Ulaanbaatar, 2018 (Archaeology). Researcher in the Stone Age Division of the Institute of Archeology, MAS. Odsuren has been Senior Researcher in investigations of Upper Paleolithic sites in northern Mongolia since 2015. As a member of the Russian-Mongolian-American team, he studied the Tolbor-15 site in 2008-2011, Kharganyn Gol-5 in 2012-2014, Tolbor-21 in 2015-2017 and Tolbor-4 in 2017, collaborating with S. A. Gladyshev, E. P. Rybin and A. M. Khatsenovich. He is a PI of a Mongolian-Canadian team studying Neolithic sites with Dr. Lisa Janz. Odsuren also undertakes intensive work in rescue archaeology, including later prehistoric periods.  His research interests include the Neolithic, lithic technology, human occupation of the Gobi Desert in the early Holocene, and the Pleistocene peopling of Mongolia and Asia in general.
